Terms & Conditions

1. Scope of These Terms

These Terms & Conditions (‘T&Cs’) govern all sales, services, installations, maintenance work, digital products, and training services provided by The X Guys and its associated business lines, including but not limited to:

  • TRELLIS (security products & installations)
  • DIY
  • SHELVING
  • RACKING
  • BUILDING & RENOVATION
  • PROPERTY MANAGEMENT
  • PRESSURE WASHING
  • WATER FILTRATION
  • PERFORMANCE
  • TRAINING
  • MINING SERVICES & SUPPLIES


These T&Cs apply to all engagements undertaken within South Africa and neighbouring countries, unless otherwise agreed in writing.


2. Quotation Validity

All quotations issued by The X Guys are valid for 14 (fourteen) days from the date of issue, unless expressly stated otherwise.

After this period, pricing, product availability, labour rates, and timelines may change without prior notice.

Errors and Omissions Excepted (E&OE).



3. Acceptance & Deposit

No work will commence until:

  1. The quotation has been accepted in writing (email, digital signature, or signed document); and
  2. The stipulated deposit has been paid and cleared in our account.


The deposit amount will be clearly stated in the quotation. Failure to pay the deposit timeously may delay scheduling.


4. Progress Payments

Unless alternative arrangements are confirmed in writing:

  • Weekly progress payments will be required based on completed phases or deliverables.
  • Final payment is due immediately upon project completion and client sign-off.
  • All invoices must be settled within 48 hours of issue.


Late or non-payment may result in suspension of work, withholding of materials, or rescheduling.


5. Final Sign-Off

The client, or an authorised representative, must inspect all completed work and provide formal written sign-off.

If a snag list is required, it must be agreed in writing. Only snag items relating to workmanship will be rectified.

Once sign-off is received, The X Guys’ obligations are considered fulfilled.


​6. Variations, Additions & Changes to Scope

Any request to alter the original scope of work must be agreed in writing.

Changes may result in revised pricing, timelines, or both. No variations will be executed without written approval from both parties.



7. Site Access & Delays

The client must provide The X Guys with unrestricted and safe access to the site for the duration of the project.

Delays caused by the client, occupants, pets, third parties, incomplete preparations, or site inaccessibility may result in:

  • Extended timelines, and/or
  • Additional charges.


The X Guys will not be held responsible for delays caused by weather, supply chain disruption, load-shedding, or other events beyond our control.



8. Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance

The X Guys comply with applicable South African building regulations, labour laws, and health and safety requirements.

The client is responsible for informing neighbours, body corporates, estate management, or authorities where required.

Where additional compliance certificates, engineering sign-offs, or regulatory approvals are needed, these may incur additional fees.



9. Quality Assurance & Workmanship Warranty

All work performed by The X Guys is carried out to a high standard of quality and professionalism.

A workmanship warranty of 6 months applies to defects arising directly from poor workmanship.


This warranty excludes:

  • Misuse, negligence, or intentional damage
  • Natural wear and tear
  • Structural movement
  • Water damage not caused by our installation
  • Third-party interference
  • Alterations or repairs performed by the client or another contractor


Materials and components are subject to the manufacturer’s warranties.



10. Ownership of Materials


All materials supplied by The X Guys remain the property of The X Guys until full and final payment has been received.

In the event of non-payment, The X Guys reserve the right to remove or reclaim any materials or installations where legally permissible.



11. Termination of Work


If the client terminates the project after commencement:

• A reconciliation of all work done, materials purchased, and labour costs will be performed.

• All outstanding amounts become immediately payable.

• Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise specified in writing.


The X Guys reserve the right to terminate a contract due to non-payment, unsafe conditions, or client misconduct.



12. Digital Products, Online Courses & Training Programmes


Digital products and online training offered by The X Guys may, depending on the product, include a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Specific refund policies will be clearly stated on the sales page or product description.

Refunds will not be granted if:

  • The client has consumed or downloaded a substantial portion of the content
  • Access to the content has been shared externally
  • Misuse, fraud, or chargeback abuse is suspected


Training fees, once paid, are generally non-refundable, except where expressly noted.



13. Service Levels for Remote, Online, or Neighbouring-Country Work


For work performed outside South Africa or in remote regions:

  • Additional travel, accommodation, and logistical costs may apply.
  • Timelines may be adjusted to accommodate distance, customs requirements, or local regulations.
  • The X Guys reserve the right to decline work where safety, political instability, or logistical constraints pose significant risk.



14. Client Responsibilities


The client must ensure that:

  • The site is safe, clean, and ready for work
  • Required utilities (water, electricity) are available
  • Relevant permissions are obtained
  • Pets and children are kept clear of work zones
  • Accurate information is provided when requesting services


The X Guys cannot be held responsible for issues arising from undisclosed site conditions or inaccurate information.



15. Limitation of Liability


While every reasonable effort is made to deliver high-quality services, The X Guys shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses
  • Delays caused by external factors
  • Damage arising from hidden defects, structural weaknesses, or pre-existing conditions
  • Loss of income, business interruption, or similar claims


Liability is limited to the value of the services provided under the contract.



16. Force Majeure


The X Guys shall not be deemed in breach of these T&Cs for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, strikes, accidents, supply shortages, civil unrest, natural disasters, or government restrictions.



17. Privacy & Confidentiality


All personal and project-related information will be handled in accordance with South Africa’s POPIA legislation.

The X Guys will not disclose client information to any third party except where required for service delivery or by law.



18. Governing Law


All work undertaken is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

In the event of disputes, both parties agree to attempt resolution in good faith before escalating to formal mediation or legal proceedings.



19. Acceptance of These Terms


By accepting a quotation, paying a deposit, engaging with our services, or purchasing digital products, the client agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
